Week 4 Assignment 3: SMILE

With the advancements of technology, it is important for teachers to make use of the educational tools available to better their teaching methods. By implementing technology in the classroom we can motivate students and engage them in learning. Although technology can distract students, when used correctly, it can be a enhance learning. For instance, SMILE is a great technological resource that I would like to implement in my classroom. It helps develop students critical thinking skills and broaden their knowledge. Students work as a team and develop essential skills by generating questions, answering and reflecting on others questions.  Although SMILE requires reading and writing, the idea of SMILE can be implemented in early childhood classrooms as well. One way to do that is by having the teacher write down student-generated questions and have the students come up with answers to the question. In this way, children can develop their critical thinking skills and learn to ask questions from a young age. I feel that SMILE is a great tool that should be implemented in every classroom, since it helps students develop essential skills.
